amplifier(alot of mixers have built in pre-amps)any direct connection(direct mic to computer) will produce an low quality sound which is nothing compared to the quality of an audio interface(they can be from 50 bucks to 500 bucks depends on the quality your looking for). But if it''s what you want you can get an XLR(which is 1/4th) to 1/8th stereo cord converter(green socket at the back of your computer) and do a direct mic connection although it wouldn''t sound nice.USB is for devices not microphones which need to be connected to your sound card(directly or indirectly)which can be done so with a 1/4th to 1/8th converter. Please find out details before you buy expensive equipmentThe 1/4th audio cords are meant to go to a amplification source and the XLR head(piece with the 3 or 4 prongs on it) is suppose to to go from your mic to your pre amp and attach to the back of your amplification source as well as a1/4th cord. You can have a home based recording studio with a mic, audio interface(usually has a USB cord to connect to your computer as well as software to configure your hardware)If your serious about making professional sounding recordings i recommend cubase(an high quality editing software),and upgrade your soundcard because in most cases the sound cards computers come with just don''t cut it.Your sound card processes the frequency''s from your audio source so it''s important to have a good one.For 200-500 dollars you can get a external hard-drive recorder which removes the hassle and is usually better then audio interfaces(your sound card is a determining factor on how well you''ll sound and another one is the quality of the audio interface)If you spend alot of money on your pre-amp it might be high end although it has depreciated from 25-50% of it''s former value and won''t be refunded because of the fact that it''s used.I play in a band and when i just started out(3 years ago) bought a 250 dollar equalizer because of a stupid salesman who happened to come across someone who didn''t know what they were talking about, research don''t fall victim to manipulation by jackasses who work on commission. You don''t need a 400 hundred dollar condenser mic if your this clueless about things | Rating: | Rated By: ytXKTMLZREy | From: QuOFIcrART | Date: 2/24/2012 6:00:00 PM | Comments: Sorry dude, but pmeraps are meant for live audio to buffer
