The zip and unzip`` functions make creating large files easy. The search feature`` quickly finds files to split or merge. A compare option checks`` the accuracy of the split files using a digital CRC32 (Cyclic`` Redundancy Check) checksum calculation when reconstructing`` the files. Each time a operation is performed a history file`` is written (optional) containing all the information`` about the run and allowing additional notes to be entered. The`` history files provide an excellent source of information for`` tracking backup files and are easily maintainable. An INFOZIP`` compression scheme is used to create, update and extract zip`` files. The files generated are 100 percent compatible with`` PKZIP and WINZIP and with support to windows 32-Bit long file`` names and long directory names. Up to 99 split files can be`` created using file extensions 001-099. Each split file will`` have a 256-byte header used for verification purposes.
