It scans through a list or range of IP addresses and ports looking for running services such as FTP or HTTP. This is useful to in determining both if authorized services are functioning, and also if there are unauthorized services running. If someone on the network has setup a rogue FTP or HTTP server, PortFlash can detect it. PortFlash is straightforward and easy to use, you define a range or list of IP addresses and ports to be scanned and then start the scan. PortFlash will go through each IP checking the ports specified and when it finds an open port it will report back.
